Now seems to be the time when the so called experts make their predictions for the year ahead. Listening to these people tout their “amazing” predictions makes me want to stick needles in my eyes. They certainly like to boast when they’re right and not so much when they’re sadly mistaken. When you look at their past predictions, they have a pretty low success rate. Sad.

Future Predictions
Here are Danny’s Nice Town’s predictions for 2019!
- Stock Market will go up by at least 15% by year end. This growth nicely exceeds the average annual increase of 7% that’s needed to save for a comfortable retirement over the long haul. The Dow Jones is around 24,700 as of this writing so it will be 28,400 or higher by Dec 31, 2019. That beats the 52 week high of 26,951 reached in Sept 2018. The US employment numbers are good, earnings are ok even with falling revenues, the trade war will most likely end this year, wages are ticking up and we didn’t have an inverted yield curve in the bond market (which would have signaled a recession coming). The Fed is likely not to overdo it when it comes to interest rate hikes and may also hold back on decreasing it’s balance sheet. When is the last time the Dow Jones was down 2 years in a row? Most years when January is in positive territory, it’ll be a good year. This one’s a sure bet!
- Apple will announce a new product or service in September that will knock your socks off. Apple spends billions on innovation and we’ve been disappointed by the lack of breakthrough products over the last few years. Sure the watch makes us feel like Dick Tracy, but that product is a teaser. Apple will launch a health product or service that will revolutionize the industry. Hold on to your Tommy Johns and get ready to have your minds blown.
- Hemp industry will explode. Lost in the news was a big December story. Hemp was legalized in the US! For those very few of you who don’t know, you cannot get high on hemp since it has no THC (the good stuff in marijuana). Some say this country was built on hemp. The sails of the USS Constitution, “Old Ironsides”, are made from 120,000 pounds of hemp fiber. That’s a lot of hemp! Everything from sails and rope to paper and clothes can be made from hemp. Did you know the Declaration of Independence was penned on hemp paper?
- Aliens exist. As an ardent viewer of Ancient Aliens, I am fascinated with this subject. Someone I know and trust had an alien encounter so I already know aliens exist. Scientific proof of the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life will be announced in 2019.
- A new Social Media company will open. “Lost in musing circumstances, that’s just where you are.” Watch this space for news and updates.
